Come out, bring your spouse/partner and enjoy a night of Fellowship.
As Canada Day is drawing near, while we assume we are all Canadians, we are asking everyone to remember their roots. Come with some attire, pin, hat, or something that reflects your ethnic background. If Jean could fit it, she might wear her kilt but she will probably have to resort to a large plaid shawl. If Doug Anderson were to attend he might have to wear a Viking helmet and a kilt!!
Let’s have an evening of fun and friendship. Remember, spouses/partners are most welcome!! Rhonda has some special programs to test your Canada knowledge!!
Please let Jean know if you are attending by June 25th.
MEAL, RSVP by Friday June 25
► ► By Friday, June 25, please RSVP to Jean so that we may inform the Golf Club how many meals to prepare.
Guest speaker: Roberta Koscielny, Communications Specialist with the Manitoba Organ Donation Transplant. TRANSPLANT MANITOBA – GIFT of LIFE
Roberta provided a very informative presentation. Roberta shared cards and encouraged signing up online to be an organ and tissue donor. Unlike the old donor card, if you are in a situation where you can save a life, your online registration is always available to the medical team and your family. Signupforlife.ca. If you aren’t comfortable with the computer, you can phone 204-787-1897.
An organ donation is a gift. The need is great globally and locally. Age is not a factor, it’s more about the health of the donor. Most importantly is for your family to be aware of your wishes.

NEXT MEETING

Our final N.O.W. packing is on June 24th. On the 17th we thanked the group who were volunteering and on the 24th which is our final day, we will thank the volunteers who are out that day. The wonderful volunteers who have come out regularly are Ron & Corrie Corrigal, Lucie Kuly, Judy Maryniuk, Jane Slyker-Lightfoot, Doreen & Ed Szczerski, Lori Stewart, Michele Polinuk, Ruth Konzelman, Marilyn Anderson, Donna West, Lena Kublick, David Thorne, Lesli Malegus. Some of these folks come every week, some every other week, some if they aren’t working that day. And we have a new faithful delivery person, Hobie Searles. Hobie delivers to two schools each week which is a big help to the program. We are also grateful to Knox Presbyterian Church for allowing to store all our food and prepare the bags on Fridays. On behalf of Sharon and Jean, Thank you again to all volunteers. Hopefully they will all be returning in the Fall when school resumes.
We have begun planting this year's garden. There are 30 tomato plants, plus potatoes, beans, beets, and onions. If you are able, please join us...we would appreciate some help.
