CLUB MEETING - NOVEMBER 28, 2022  Rotary Club of Selkirk – Based on the Meeting Minutes of November 28, 2022 Welcome by President David in a new location tonight, Happy Thought School Special Guests included District Governor Fred Wright and District Governor Elect Peter Tonge.
Program: 1) Discuss spring 5550 Survey results: The purpose of this meeting was to review the District Survey taken in the spring as it relates to our club. President David went through the report, highlighting the responses given by club members (58% of our club responded to the survey). Some of the highlighted [survey] responses were: - the cost of membership,
- too many times members are asked to donate money,
- how to attract more young people to membership and
- how to make our club more diverse.
- Also, to consider communication and understanding of what Rotary is, particularly new members.
Comments were made not to “shelve” the results of the survey but to follow up with an action plan and see it through. 2) Develop club project ideas President David also brought up major project ideas with suggestions from the floor as well. |

 NOW, 3 YEARS AND COUNTING  NUTRITION ON WEEKENDS CLICK PHOTO for full size FACEBOOK POST For a third straight year, members of the Rotary Club of Selkirk have partnered with the Lord Selkirk School Division to bring much needed healthy snacks to six area schools. Each week from October until June, Rotarians and local volunteers prepare 171 snack bags that help youth curb hunger on the weekends. Recently, we received a very generous grant from the Selkirk & District Community Foundation which ensures the continuance of the program going forward. Investing in our youth today will no doubt pay dividends and build strong leaders in the future! Rotary Club of Selkirk Manitoba, December 5, 2022 |
