A Community Service Report 1971 given by Dr. Oli Johnson, Director of Community Service

  •  This year (1971) a Rotary committee chaired by Cliff Miller is preparing a toboggan and ski slide area with lights and heated shelter. This is being carried out with the cooperation and assistance of the Chair of Parks & Recreation for the Town of Selkirk, Vern Desmet. $1000.00 has been voted to this project by the club. That year the club also donated $250.00 towards the purchase of baseball uniforms and crests for kids.
  • Fundraising projects for the year were Bingo at Selkirk Fair, Rotary Street Carnival, One thousand dollar bill draws and the Travel and Adventure Series will continue. “This series has proven to be of educational and cultural value to the community as well as bring some profit to the club”.
