Acting Sergeant-at-Arms, Rhonda, worked the crowd and fined people for various things and collected Happy Dollars.
Ruth circulated and reviewed membership cost. Ruth moved increase to $200./person. Seconded by Elaine. Carried.
Ruth circulated and presented Lobsterfest financials. Net profit was $24,037.95.
Rhonda reported discussion held Sat., Jun 9 where list of improvements for future Lobsterfest developed. Ideas included:
Cost of freight increasing—suggestions: one lobster instead of two; give option of 1 or 2 with different prices; decrease size of lobsters; lobster and steak (logistics of cooking steak difficult). Lobsters getting bigger over the years and should be kept at smaller size.
Gimli charges $55./ticket (1 lobster).
Liquor will be raised to $5./drink.
Would like to sell appetizers, as many people bring their own chips, etc.
Need someone to oversee whole catering piece.
2nd Monday after Lobsterfest would be Thank You event for Rotarians and Volunteers.
Volunteer floater needed to relieve Rotarians so everyone has a chance to rest.
Change sound/stage/speakers setup from end of rink to middle of rink for better sound (same setup as Grad).
Purchase a Vegas trip package at cost as an auction item.
Have recycling bins available (at request of attendees).
Volunteer groups were very good and worked well. The new high-visibility T-shirts helped to differentiate the volunteers.
Sat., May 25, 2019 – next Selkirk Rotary Lobsterfest.
Book Sale – Marsha reported the Barn ice surface has been booked—no rental fee. Aug 27-31, 2018 is set up for Book Sale. Sep 6, 7, 8 & 13 is Book Sale. May need to get tables from the school.

(Not going to do Family Membership at this time, as cannot afford—keep for future).
Sharon noted looking for ideas to promote Rotary, as need more members. There’s a new title “Passport Clubs” for clubs that meet with flexibility.
