Speaker is Tammy Thompson who is Program Manager for START (Selkirk Team for at Risk Teens) and RE-START for adults. Her  report entitled “Sexual Exploitation in Selkirk...through the eyes of the START Program” is a follow up on a local perspective from the Joy Smith presentation.

    RAFFLE SUPPORTS UKRAINIAN REFUGEES 
    Draws took place for the winning tickets on CANADA DAY 2022.
    Lesli Malegus and Robert Unik drew the raffle winners on Canada Day at the Selkirk waterfront
    Robert donated his carvings for the raffle to raise funds for Ukrainian refugees

    Robert Unik has partnered with Selkirk Rotary Club to offer his carvings as raffle prizes to fundraise for Ukrainian refugees settling in ManitobaThe Selkirk Record, March 24, 2022, page 10

    Robert Unik of Unikque Creations has partnered with Selkirk Rotary Club in order to offer raffle prizes to raise money to help Ukrainian refugees settle in Manitoba. Robert is a well-known wood carver who has donated five hand-carved pieces for the raffle. 
     
    Tickets were $20

    • There will be no meeting on May 23 as Lobster on the Run on May 28 will count as a meeting.

    EXCERPTS FROM OUR APRIL 11 MEETING
     
    We have resumed in-person meetings at the Selkirk Golf and Country Club. 
     
    Peace Pole:
    • The pole has been order and is being made
     
    N.O.W.: Nutrition On Weekends program
    • We are now up to 152 bags.
    • The posts on social media, particularly Facebook, received many views, likes, comments, and three people reached out to volunteer. 
     
    Lobster on the Run: 
    • The event will be run identical to last year.
    • A signup sheet was circulated at the meeting. If you were unable to make the meeting but can volunteer in some capacity in the days preceding or day of the event, May 28th, please contact Lesli or Rhonda.
    • They are looking for volunteers to oversee the 50/50 and Ticket prizes.
    • All information regarding the prizes is included in the packets for tickets.
