Rotarians at Work

Selkirk Record: p12, Selkirk Rotary Club gathers for spring clean up

Brett Mitchel showed up and took pictures of Hobie, Michele and Jean and he just called and wanted to know if he could add to it by saying to call if interested in becoming a Rotarian!! Jean gave him Lesli’s number.

Ruth, Lesli, Al and Ron did Moody Avenue (Penwarden Park).  It did not take them long as the park has not been used due to isolation so they didn’t have too much garbage.  Michele, Hobie and Jean did Queen’s Park and spent half an hour there .  The park was relatively clean.  Hobie even did under the bridge!! We were visited by Brett Mitchell from the Selkirk Record while there..

Marcia and Elaine found Murray Sinclair Park relatively clean and spent about 15 minutes there.

Now that parks are opening up we may find them to have more garbage.  But the fellowship is worth the effort and if we get exposure for our efforts we are at least showing that Rotary is out there and doing our bit for the environment and community.

LSRCSS Scholarships

Kathy Burke from the Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School notified us that due to social distancing and the changes necessary for graduation the Rotary scholarship will be presented at Convocation by a staff member and our contribution will be acknowledged.

Congratulations to Rotarian Michele Polinuk

The Manitoba government has made several new appointments and reappointments to the boards of the five regional health authorities. One new appointment on the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority Board is our very own Rotarian Michele Polinuk. Congratulations Michele. You will be a valuable asset to the board.
