Monday February 25, 2019 Program - Luncheon meeting instead of evening!

This meeting:
Rotarians...

Please forward this reminder of our Forum luncheon to our Rotary members for those who were not at the meeting and maybe some of our Honorary members might like to come and bring their partners as well.

They need to know that they HAVE TO BUY OR ORDER A TICKET as there aren’t any walk-ins and that is what they are used to.  They can call me and I can arrange to meet them at Gordon Howard at a certain time for pick up or if that doesn’t work I will hold them at the door.

Also, There is NO EVENING MEETING on Monday February 25,  because the luncheon forum with the Mayors replaces the evening meeting.

At Last Meeting (February 11, 2019)
Michele Polinuk

"Our society is in a time of change. Our school system is a reflection of society. The provincial government is embarking on a provincial review. What does this mean? What is happening in education? What might be changing? What is the role of school boards and trustees? Come to Rotary to find out!" - Michele Polinuk

Anyone fortunate to attend our meeting received an interesting and informative talk from fellow Rotarian Michele Polinuk!  As the Superintendent and CEO of the Lord Selkirk School Division she was able to clearly paint a picture of our regional education system today.  It was excellent!

Hi Ms. Oliver,

How are you? I am hosting an ethics night on February 27th from 7-8:30. I would love it if you could make it and if you could spread the news to the other rotary members that would be very much appreciated. I will be talking to you soon.

District Conference 2019 Registration
District Conference 2019
See "March 18th UPDATE" below for information on the  April 15  Early-Bird  registration deadline.

Hello My Fellow Rotarians

I am pleased to advise you that the District 5550 Conference web site is now live and the registration pages are ready for early registration. The link below will bring you to the site.

This is an all new site and it is being populated with new things as we go forward. Currently the venue information, registration information, and speaker bios are up and ready. We anticipate seeing new things going up as they are available on a regular basis. We will bring you updates as new sections are populated...look for a cursory schedule to be up soon.

Remember we still need your stories of inspiration as we have had only a couple come through and I know there are many more out there. With the event fast approaching those stories will be added to the website and Facebook as we get excited to be inspired at the Conference. Couple this with sharing the companionship of our fellow Rotarians and their families the spring looks to be warm in Winnipeg!

We look forward to seeing you in Winnipeg and hearing your stories of inspiration.

March 18th UPDATE

Hello my fellow Rotarians,

Finally we can smell spring in the air, enjoy more sunlight, and yes even plus temperatures are threatening to appear. All this points to one thing...District Conference is close...real close. To be exact we are 45 days away from our annual conference. We are so very excited to host you but we can't do that if you don't register. Early-Bird registration ends at the end of day April 15th. Get registered and don't miss the savings.

The Conference website is being updated weekly including pictures of the Conference committee and their roles. The schedule will be updated as well. We have full Bios up for our speakers just click on the speaker's name and you will see their bio.
  • John Blount will present "Creating Memorable Rotary Events"
  • Kevin Chief will present "Rotary and First Nations Working Together"
  • Sylvia Whitlock will present "The Edge of Tomorrow"
  • Don Evans will present "Conflict - Finding a Way Forward"
We will have an interactive breakout where you can work with your fellow Rotarians to give back..."Handbags of Hope". I am attaching more information to the email.

Don't forget to send in your inspirational stories if you haven't already.

We can't wait to be inspired by our time together. More updates in the weeks to come.

Cheers
